What to Expect During the Pet Euthanasia Procedure
Before the doctor arrives, it's best to take time to share memories or have private moments with your pet. Gather all your loved ones who wish to be present before our visit to make sure they have time to say goodbye. When our team arrives, they will gently administer a sedative tailored to your pet’s specific needs, helping them relax into a deep sleep.
Once your pet is comfortably sedated, a final injection is given to allow a peaceful passing. This process usually takes just seconds, though it may be slower for very ill or dehydrated pets.
Once the doctor confirms the passing, you may choose to have them take your pet for aftercare, or you can spend more time with your pet and arrange for aftercare later at a location of your choice.
About Our Scheduling
We're here to support you during this sensitive time. Appointments are typically arranged 24-48 hours in advance to ensure we can provide the most caring experience possible. For pets in immediate distress, we recommend seeking care at your local veterinary hospital, as our service is not equipped for emergency situations.
Each appointment time is dedicated exclusively to your family. A 24-hour cancellation notice helps us serve other families who need our care.
If your pet passes at home, we offer transport and cremation services to help during this difficult transition.
Our mobile practice covers an extensive area, which occasionally affects our availability. When our schedule is full, we maintain a network of trusted colleagues who provide similar compassionate in-home services, and we're happy to connect you with them.
